Students take part in interactive sessions to explore university life, build confidence and develop the skills needed to succeed beyond school, with an online information session also available for parents and carers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/medical-sciences\/divisions\/medical-school\/target-medicine\/events-and-activities\/target-medicine-become\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Become <\/a><\/strong>&#8211; Become is a free one-day event for Year 9 and 10 students from Black heritage backgrounds, developed by UCL medical students to address the under-representation of Black students in medicine. Attendees can discover what studying medicine is like, meet medical professionals and current UCL students from similar backgrounds, explore university support and opportunities, and take part in hands-on workshops to help inform their future decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/teaching-learning\/blackucl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Black @ UCL <\/a><\/strong>&#8211; Black@UCL is a three-year initiative strengthening the sense of belonging among UK Black undergraduate students at UCL, with the aim of addressing the Black awarding gap.
