He passed away in August 2012, leaving a profound legacy for his family and all who knew him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inspired by his life and experience, the scholarship supports medical students from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds, a group that remains underrepresented in UK medical schools,  while creating a pipeline of inspirational role models within the medical profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#x1f4b7; <strong>Funding Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each scholarship includes a \u00a31,500 bursary alongside a year of dedicated leadership mentoring and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In exceptional circumstances, the judging panel may award additional secondary bursaries to other applicants, with amounts at their discretion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To apply students must be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A full-time student currently enrolled at a UK medical school as of 31st August (including intercalating students)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From a Black, Asian, or minority ethnic background<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Able to demonstrate a strong and consistent academic record<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Able to demonstrate an exceptional track record of giving back to society outside of their studies<br><br><strong>Please note:<\/strong>\u00a0Secondary school students and incoming first year students who have not yet commenced their studies are not eligible.
