ℹ️ About the scholarship
The Akindolie Medical Scholarship was established in 2016 by the children of Dr. Olufemi Akindolie to honour their father’s memory and support the next generation of UK-trained doctors.
Dr. Akindolie was a gifted, German-trained physician who understood first-hand the transformative power of scholarship support and the unique challenges of being a minority ethnic medical student. He passed away in August 2012, leaving a profound legacy for his family and all who knew him.
Inspired by his life and experience, the scholarship supports medical students from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds, a group that remains underrepresented in UK medical schools, while creating a pipeline of inspirational role models within the medical profession.
