Creative
Industries & Media

The creative industries can often be competitive and hard to break into, especially without the right connections.

We've highlighted some organisations that are specifically designed to help Black graduates build careers in PR, communications, marketing, journalism and the wider creative sector, giving you access to the networks and opportunities that can make a real difference.

Creative Access

Creative Access supports you in starting and growing a career in the creative industries through paid internships, jobs, mentoring, and career development programmes. The organisation helps people from underrepresented backgrounds gain access to opportunities and build careers across sectors like film, TV, theatre, advertising, publishing, and more.

Taylor Bennett Foundation

The Taylor Bennett Foundation supports you in pursuing a career in PR and communications through paid training programmes, internships, mentoring, and professional development opportunities. Working with leading employers, it helps students and graduates from Black, Asian, and ethnic minority backgrounds build experience, develop skills, and access pathways into the industry.

Just Runners

This is a community initiative that creates entry-level opportunities in film and TV for people with little to no industry experience. They champion diversity across gender, race, class, religion, and disability, believing that talent is everywhere, but opportunity isn’t always equal. Through partnerships with organisations like BFI, Raindance, and the Prince’s Trust, they help you access social outreach programmes and training routes that lead onto real film sets, giving you a genuine pathway into the production industry even without existing contacts.

SocialFIXT

SocialFIXT connects you with entry-level opportunities in the creative industries, helping diverse talent access recruitment and job pathways. Through initiatives like #TheFIXTSeries, they also support you in building skills for CV writing, applications, and interviews, making it easier to break into the creative job market.

Routes In

Routes In supports you in breaking into the creative industries through mentoring, training programmes, and networking opportunities. By connecting emerging talent with experienced professionals, they help you build skills, gain industry insight, and access pathways into careers in film, media, and the wider creative sector.
