Each award covers full tuition fees and a £18,062 living costs stipend. Applicants must be Queen Mary graduates applying for a master’s in an AHRC-covered humanities or social sciences subject.
- Sheikh Family Scholars’ Fund – The Sheikh Family Scholars’ Fund, established by the COSARAF Foundation, offers grants of up to £2,000 per year (typically £500–£1,000) for Muslim undergraduate home students in financial difficulty or unexpected hardship. Applications are made through the student’s tutor, who applies on their behalf.
- Chevening Awards – Chevening Scholarships are available to students from 140+ eligible countries, covering full tuition fees, living costs, airfares and other expenses. Scholars also benefit from a year-long programme of events to experience British culture and make the most of their time in the UK.
- Commonwealth PhD Scholarships (low-income countries) – Commonwealth PhD Scholarships, co-funded by Queen Mary and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, support talented individuals from low and middle-income Commonwealth countries who could not otherwise study in the UK.
